From our base at Bhunter, with a truck-mounted rig and a portable one. The ground changes from place to place — this is what each part of the district is like.
Our base. The Beas has laid wide river terraces here — CGWB marks two levels of them near Bhunter — and the valley floor's boulders and gravels hold the water. The truck rig reaches most plots.
The upper Beas valley: fans and terraces under the orchards, and hill rock on the slopes. Hotels and homestays here need more water; old village lanes often mean the portable rig.
A narrow side valley with steep plots and small roads — portable-rig country. It drills to 100 metres where the truck cannot go.
The Parvati's narrow valley, with hot springs. CGWB found hot-spring water in the district unfit to drink — near them, test a new bore's water before use.
Just down the Beas from Bhunter. CGWB counts Mandi's Balh valley among the district's prolific aquifers; its hard-rock hills are poor. By project.
Springs and snow-fed kuhls, few bores — heavy rigs rarely reach. Drilled in the open months, by project; the portable rig suits it.

Send a site enquiryWhat CGWB found under the Balh valley and Mandi's hills — tube-well depths, yields and free-flowing wells by the Suketi khad.
Mandi groundWhy the valley has so few bores, where CGWB says groundwater can be developed, and how deep the state's bores found water.
Lahaul groundYes — Manali, Naggar and the villages up the valley are part of our regular area, with the truck rig where the road allows and the portable rig where it doesn't.
Yes. Banjar and the Tirthan valley are in our service area; for steep plots and narrow roads we bring the portable rig, which drills to 100 metres.
Yes. Near the hot springs, have the water tested: CGWB found that hot-spring water in Kullu district is not fit to drink.
Yes, by project — Aut and Mandi district are close to Bhunter, and Lahaul in the open months. Tell us the location and the access, and we will tell you what's possible.
